The Mythology of Ganesh: Storytelling and Chanting
We’ll start the day with movement to land in our bodies and settle the mind. Known as the Gatekeeper, the elephant-headed deity Ganesh is one of the most beloved deities of the Hindu pantheon. Worshipped at the start of new endeavors, his energy and wisdom can be accessed through storytelling, the metaphor of his symbolism, and the chanting of mantra that invokes his particular essence. In our mythology session we will learn the endearing and profound stories behind how Ganesh got his elephant head, his relationship to divine masculine and feminine forces Shiva and Shakti, and how we can welcome him into our lives to shift how we relate to obstacles and clear the path towards the prosperity we desire. A restorative yoga practice heavily supported by props and steeped in stillness and silence to welcome integration of the day, reflection, and deep rest. Location shared upon registration.
